Montana is known for its fly fishing and the Big Sky area is no exception. With the Gallatin River within minutes of any rental property in Big Sky, it is great for tourists and locals alike. The Big Sky Area has multiple local outfitters with trips for beginners to even the most experienced fishermen. Choose from a variety of trips including floating trips, walk/wade trips and horsepack trips. Fishing License Information
Rivers and Streams: Open May 17th through November 30th
Lakes and Reservoirs: Open all year long.
To fish in Montana most anglers will need two licenses, a conservation license and a fishing license.
Conservation License (age 15-61):
Residents: $8
Non-Residents: $10
Fishing License (age 15-61):
Residents: $5 for 2 consecutive days, $18 for season
Non-Residents: $15 for 2 consecutive days, $43.50 for 10 consecutive days
