| Time: | 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. | | Location: | Eagle Mount Bozeman | | Details: |
Eagle Mount Bozeman’s inaugural Horsemanship Camp is looking
for participants. The camp will prepare future volunteers, ages 9 to 16, for
our equestrian program. The camp will be held Monday, June 17th
through Friday, June 21st, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Camp is designed to provide campers who want
to become Eagle Mount volunteers with a fun and safe environment to learn about
horses and to teach them about Eagle Mount’s mission. The campers will be introduced to balanced
seat equitation and showmanship. They will work with Eagle Mount’s therapy
horses throughout the week as they learn new skills while safely working with
their assigned horse. Campers with
little to no horse experience will benefit most from their week at camp.
Activities will include learning about disabilities –
physical and cognitive; adaptive riding equipment; feeding and horse health
management; grooming and hoof care; leading and horse handling; tack cleaning
and safety check; and stable management. The camp will culminate in a barn
inspection to include cleanliness of their assigned stall, tack and horse along
with a Showmanship Class where campers will demonstrate their horsemanship
skills.
Founded in 1982, Eagle Mount’s mission is to provide
therapeutic recreation for people with disabilities of all ages and children
with cancer. For people living with a disability or cancer, recreation means a
lot more than “play time.” Recreational activities offer healing,
life-affirming, joyful and satisfying experiences. When people are with Eagle
Mount, the focus is always on their abilities. At Eagle Mount, every challenge
inspires a new adventure.
The deadline for registration is May 1st,
2013. The fee for the five day camp is $300. For more information please visit www.eaglemount.org or contact Maggee
Harrison, (mharrison@eaglemount.org)
or Anna Turecek, (aturecek@eaglemount.org

Truchard Vineyards was established in 1974, when Tony and Jo Ann Truchard came to the Carneros region of the Napa Valley and purchased a 20 acre parcel of land. They transformed what was an abandoned prune orchard into a vineyard and began selling the fruit to a local winery. Through hard work and dedication they quickly developed a reputation as one of the outstanding vineyards in Carneros. Over the past 31 years the Truchard Estate Vineyard has grown to 400 acres, of which 270 acres are planted. The Truchards now sell grapes to more than 20 premiere Napa Valley wineries.
In 1989, the Truchards began making wine for themselves using only their estate-grown fruit. The winery makes 11 different wines, producing a total of 16,000 cases per year.
Truchard wines are produced with the vineyard in mind. We always will consider ourselves “a big vineyard and a small winery”. The wines are hand-crafted using traditional winemaking techniques and exemplify the high quality fruit of the Truchard Estate Vineyard. They are truly: “wines with a sense of place”.
