Big Sky Town Center
The 30th Annual Big Sky Country Fair and Arts Festival is just around the corner and there are plenty of ways to get involved in this great community event seeped in Big Sky tradition. This annual community event will be held this Saturday, July 31st at the Big Sky Town Center Pavilion and there are plenty of ways to enjoy the day starting with the American Bank sponsored 5K Race. Registration for this free 5K race will begin at 7:30am in the Big Sky Community Park Pavilion and the race will begin promptly at 8:00am taking a route through the Meadow Village and back to the Community Park.
After the 5K race, floats for the annual Big Sky Country Fair parade, themed ‘Basecamp to Yellowstone’ will begin lining up at the Community Park Pavilion. In years past we have seen everything from decorated cars to dogs to bikes to horses to people on foot and anyone and everyone are invited to be a part of Big Sky’s annual parade. Line-up for the parade will begin at 9:30am at the Park Pavilion and the parade will begin at 10:00am, running through the Meadow Village, past the Bunker and the across highway 64, ending at the site of the Country Fair on Ousel Falls Road.
Once the parade reaches the Town Center, the 30th Annual Country Fair and Arts Festival will officially begin! There you will find local and regional artists showcasing their original artwork and handmade crafts. There will also be food vendors with delectable delights, kid’s art activities for all ages, a bouncer, climbing wall and so much more. Three bands will entertain throughout the day at the Country Fair, starting with the bluegrass duo, ‘Bluebird Sky’ at 11:00am, local honky-tonk favorites ‘Ten Foot Tall & 80 Proof’ at 1:00pm, and renowned ‘Head for the Hills’ finishing out the day. We encourage you to come and run the race, volunteer, enter a float in the parade or just come and enjoy a day of community, art and music with us.
Don't forget, also on Saturday, the Historic Crail Ranch will be holding their annual bake sale and the Meadow Village Center will host their Crazy Days sale. And don't miss the Friday night Country Fair kick-off concert with Dusty Rhodes and the River Band at the Town Center Pavilion starting at 7pm.
The Chamber is still looking for volunteers to help out on the day of the event. There are several opportunities to volunteer – anything from blowing up balloons to helping in the kid’s activity tent. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Robin at 995-3000.
